Hello world!
Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or…
I plan every lesson with the exam in mind. I link each step of your child’s learning to the exam by using relevant exam practice along the way. I teach your child to walk into every maths exam feeling confident and fully prepared.
I am extremely patient with students who are struggling. I speak with your child to understand their difficulty and plan lessons to tackle those challenges head-on. I start with the basics and build up slowly until things start to click.
Every week, I run live sessions where we solve real past paper questions together. This will help your child get used to the exam format while revising key maths topics they've already covered. My exam practice lessons are completely free!
I don’t just teach during lessons; I equip your child with the right resources and guidance to revise on their own. I show them how to study, explain why it matters and keep them motivated to keep going even outside our sessions.
You can try a free lesson without any hidden costs. You will also receive free revision guides and resource banks to support your child's learning. It's a great way to see the benefits without any commitment.
Sobur has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter over the last year. She has gone from nearly crying when I try to talk to her about maths, to feeling confident enough to study economics at A-level. Sobur is patient and thoughtful in his lessons, and he really pays attention to what she needs to concentrate on, tailoring each lesson to a specific key skill, as well as setting appropriate homework which my daughter always does without prompting.

I would like to thank Mr. Sobur for the commitment and professionalism regarding my son's tuition for Year 11 last year. Within two months, he went up in grades from 2 to 5 (Foundation tier) in the GCSE exams, this thing we all feel proud about. Sobur's supportive and efficient teaching were the biggest things that made a difference in my son's understanding of the subject with confidence. I really appreciate his efforts and dedication, and I wish him the best in his career.
My son takes lessons with Sobur for his Maths IGCSE. He sure knows how to adapt his explanations and I really appreciate that he takes the time needed to ensure that concepts are fully understood. I highly recommend him to any family looking for a teacher who combines professionalism and kindness.

I have two sons in Year 9 and 10 who study with Mr Sobur. He knows how to make the boys focus and enjoy the lessons and has been very helpful anytime they need help. They do a lot of practice questions and get practice homework and resources after lessons. I highly recommend him for any stage of learning.

My name is Yousuf and I am currently preparing for my GCSE'S. I’ve been taking maths with Mr. Sobur.
I enjoy Mr. Sobur’s teaching because of how he explains and he makes the hardest topics in maths seem like the easiest one when we are done with it. He always makes sure that I get it even if it means taking a little longer he will make sure that I get the topic I am doing.
Thanks to Mr. Sobur's lessons. I feel much more confident with maths and I have definitely noticed great progress because of him in my school work. My understanding has gotten much better. It is as if I feel like I am ready for my GCSE's right now.
We have been working with Mr Sobur for private math lessons since last year for my Year 10 son who struggles with concentration. He is an incredibly patient teacher. My son has been able to overcome some of his math difficulties and his results have improved significantly.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his service to anyone whose child is struggling in maths, or someone who wants to be a bit more stretched.

About Me
I’m Sobur, and I’ve been teaching maths for around a decade. One of the most defining parts of that journey was my time at a tuition centre based in Leicester, where I worked closely with students preparing for their GCSE and A-level exams. I watched how students learn, where they got stuck, and what actually helped them improve. It showed me that doing well in maths isn’t mostly about natural ability; it is about building strong foundations, learning how to study, and having someone in your corner who knows how to guide you through. Everything I do now as a tutor is shaped by those lessons.
When a child struggles in maths, it’s often not because the topic is too hard, but because they’re missing relevant fundamentals. A child who hasn’t mastered negative numbers will find algebra or solving equations almost impossible. A child who doesn’t fully grasp fractions will struggle with ratio and probability and a child that is unsure about basic angles will find circle theorems confusing. So I pay close attention to identify which fundamental skills a child may be missing.
I also saw that real progress (especially in exam performance) depends on developing a habit of personal study. Many students, however, feel overwhelmed when they try to revise on their own. Through experience, I learned to guide them gently into it. I show them how to study, what to focus on, and I provide the resources and support they need to make personal revision feel rewarding.
I noticed too that students often forget topics they’ve already covered. It’s not that they didn’t understand them before — they just haven’t seen them in a while. So I started using regular exam paper walkthroughs, focusing especially on past topics. This keeps the material fresh in their minds and helps them see clearly what needs more revision. Since I have started using these methods in my tuition, many children have grown from hating maths to loving maths, from avoiding revision to craving revision. Many have improved their grades and some who hated maths are now considering taking it in A-levels, and many of my students go on to take the GCSE’s often getting between a 7 and a 9.
